DECLARATION OF CESSATION OF MILITARY HOSTILITIES
On the twenty-fourth day of the month of August of 2014, in the city of Maputo, the following are present:
His Excellency José Condugua António Pacheco, Minister of Agriculture and Chief of the Delegation of the Government in the political dialogue with the Renamo Party.
His Excellency Saimone Muhambi Macuina, Deputy of the Republican Assembly and President of the Jurisdictional Council and Chief of the Delegation of the Renamo Party in the dialogue with the Government.
Having coming to fruition in the debate about Item II of the Agenda on Military Issues, in the dialogue between the Government of the Republic of Mozambique and the Renamo Party, it is declared that they reached consensus and signed the following documents:
a) MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING;
b) MECHANISMS OF GUARANTEES;
c) TERMS OF REFERENCE OF THE MILITARY OBSERVATION TEAM ON THE CESSATION OF MILITARY HOSTILITIES (EMOCHM)
Authorised by His Excellency Armando Emílio Guebuza, President of the Republic of Mozambique, and by His Excellency, Afonso Macacho Dhlakama, President of the Renamo Party, the above presents declare the cessation of military hostilities in all national territory with immediate effect.
