    Agreement informs of Technical Committee's consideration and discussion on the report submitted by the Quick Response Team (QRT) on their visit to Upper Minabay, Buldon, Maguindanao to determine compliance with the Agreement to Sustain the Quest for Peace (6/02/1998), which involved troop repositioning and the suspension of logging activities in that area. Joint Action on the QRT report

The sixth GRP and MILF technical committee meeting was held on April 22-23, 1998 at the Marawi resort hotel in Marawi City.

The GRP and the MILF panels are chaired by LTGEN.

JOSELIN NAZARENO and ATTY LANANG ALI respectively.

The technical committee considered and discussed the report submitted by the Quick Response Team (QRT) on the visit to upper Minabay, Buldon, Maguindanao vis-à-vis compliance with the February 6, 1998 agreement between the parties.

Following discussions on the report, both parties noted the finding and recommendations of the QRT pertaining to, among others, the repositioning of troops in certain areas, and suspension of all logging activities until final resolution of the conflict thereat.

The GRP agreed to undertake such appropriate actions as may be proper and necessary in order to preclude any disturbance of peace in the area.

Both parties reaffirmed their continuing commitment to the spirit and intent of the Marawi agreement signed of February 6, 1998 and to continue their confidence building in their genuine quest for peace.

The next technical committee meeting shall be held after the national elections on May 11, 1998.
